So we went outside of the capital to do divisions this week with the Zacapa, Chiquimula, and Puerto Barrios zones!! It was quite the adventure. We started in Chiquimula, and i had the opportunity to go to San Luis again to work with Elder Slaugh, my hijo from Guastatoya. It was great to be out there again to work with those elders and help them out a little bit, and also say bye to all the people I taught and knew in San Luis!! I love that place and it will always have a special place in my heart!
After San Luis, I was able to go over to Estanzuela, my first area i had in the mission! It felt a little weird to be back there after such a long time, but it was so great to see the people I first taught in the mission. They were all quite shocked that i can actually speak Spanish now, and let me tell you, the house that the elders live in now is WAYYY better than the house i lived in when i was there. They arent going to find any snakes in their bathroom haha.
After Estanzuela, we went out to Puerto Barrios to work with the elders out there!! Its quite warm out there, because it is literally on the ocean, but its a really cool place. After divisions, we stayed out there for pday and Elder Ekblad and Elder Alldredge came out and met us there!! We went to the castle of San Felipe which is a super cool pirate castle that was built over 400 years ago! It was crazy to see... i felt like Jack Sparrow in that place it was super chilero.
After the castle we went to this place called Quirigua, some Myan ruins that are in Puerto Barrios!! That was nutssss cuz there were some super super stall statues of stuff from the myan people that were here hundreds of years ago. It was really cool to see that place, and i must say, we have some cool stuff in our mission.
