this week was a very interesting week honestly.
Elder Fowlks
this might have been one of the roughest weeks i have had in the mission missionary work wise. me and my good ole hijo elder slaugh walked soooo much and worked harddd and we had a hard time getting into a house!! im not sure what was up but nobody wanted to listen to the elders haha. its ok tho, because sometimes in the mish that just happens.
we did an awesome service this week though with the president of the branch here!! we went to his house and moved some lamina.. which are like sheets of metal that people use to build houses with down here!! but we had some cool experiences that went down while we were doing that, and im gonna tell yall about em right now.
1. alrighty. so we were moving the laminas and working super hard when a lady that lives in that house just grabbed a pollo. and all of us were like "whooaaa whats about to go down" and she was like "you guys can watch if you want" and we all got super spooked. thats when she put that poor chicken into some crazy machine and just slit his throat without thinking twice!! the pollo was freaking out for like a solid 5 mins then he finally died. i was shook.
but the crazy thing is that after that, she wanted us to help her clean the pollo!! i had the blessing to be able to clean out the molleja.. i have no clue what that is called in english, but it was completely disgusting cuz it was filled with food that the pollo had eaten like 10 minutes before. interesting experience.
2. ok. the next experience is way more cool and was less gross.
so we were still moving around those laminas when my man presidente illescas, the branch president, brought down 4 coconuts and a machete!! he just started cutting open a coconut and made a little hole so he could drink the water out of it!! then he just handed me the machete and said "go for it" but in spanish.
so i grabbed that machete, grabbed that coconut, and went to work haha. it took me a little while, but i managed to cut open the coconut and drink the water out of it!! it was super yummy and very satisfying not gonna lie.
sorry yall, it was a little bit longer this week, but i had some stories that i needed to tell. love you tons and have a happy new year!!
