Elder Preston Fowlks - Guatemala City East Mission Sept 4, 2017: Week 83

hello everyone!!
this week was super awesome for us, for a number of reasons!!

first of all, conference was AWESOMEEEEE. ive said this before, but conference for us out here is like the super bowl that just happens to last 10 hours. i loved all the talks, and i was able to receive relelation for my area and also just for my life in general, which was CHILERO. also after the priesthood session, the elders from San Isidro stayed the night because they didnt want to travel all the way back to their house in the sketchy buses at 8pm.. so we had a good time in the house with 6 missionaries!!

another reason that it was a solid week is cuz we got to go to the temple again!! ismer, a super cool guy i taught in san luis, is going on a mission in a couple weeks so he invited me to go to the temple with him! that was super awesome.. every time i go to the temple i realize how much i love it there and how grateful i am for the temples we have!! i did not realize how lucky i was to have so many temples so close to my house.. it really is a huge blessing.

this week we also got to paint another house!! a family in palmita, an area in our zone, needed some help with painting. im fully convinced that im an expert in painting houses now after painting like 80 out here in the mish hahah!! after i got done painting i was just looking at the wall i painted in awe.. i was super proud of my work. #humility

our investigators are having kind of a hard time progressing. the whole thing with getting married its making them a little bit scared, and they arent sure if they want to do it or not! so we are going to keep working with the Gil and Vasquez family, but we are also going to work hard to find more people to teach. Rudy is also progressing a lot, he is reading and praying, he just could not come to conference this weekend which was a bummer for us!!

oh yeah, just to end the week, in the last couple weeks i have been in a war with some bed bugs that somehow creeped into my bed. these little bugs bite like you would not believe, and it itches like crazyyyyy. i hate them with all my corazon.
